Genre Borders in Post-Genre Music: A Case Study of the Ecstatic Music Festival – Anna Reguero

Anna Reguero is a PhD candidate at Stony Brook University where her primary research centers around contemporary music, applying post-postmodernist cultural theories to New York-based indie classical music. In addition to her scholarly work, she is a freelance music critic and arts reporter. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, she held the music and dance critic and arts reporter position at the daily newspaper in Rochester, NY and was a fellow in the National Endowment for the Arts Journalism Institute in Classical Music and Opera. Anna earned a masters degree in the arts journalism program at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications and holds an undergraduate degree from the Eastman School of Music as a clarinetist.
